Little Fighter

"Akak, when I grow up, I want to be a fighter," said Wan.

"Why?"

"Because I want to ensure the world is in peace. I have enemies - criminals, villain and monsters."

"Wow! How do you fight them?"

Wan looked at me, with a big question mark on the face.

"Why should I fight them?" asked Wan.

"They are bad people. Didn't you just say you want to be a fighter?"

"Yes. But fighter does not always fight. I want to make friends with my enemies, turning them from bad to good."

I smiled. "Wan, you are already a fighter."

This conversation happened few years back, when Wan was four.
Yet, it is still green.

Everyone is a fighter.

And a fighter, sometimes get lost, or feel tired.
Yet, he or she will believe that there is always hope,
if and only if,
that particular fighter have faith in The Hope-Giver.

Sitijah

Saya sedang bersantai-santai di bilik rakan ketika secara tiba-tiba, bunyi kucing mengiau kuat kedengaran.

"Mesti Sitijah," ujar rakan saya, membuka pintu.

Pantas, seekor kucing berbulu putih, jingga dan hitam masuk ke bilik.

"Nak makan ya?" ujar rakan saya, mencapai bekas berisi makanan kucing.

Namun, Sitijah terus mengiau dan mengiau.

"Awak nak apa?" aju rakan dengan nada suara yang semakin meninggi.

" Saya rasa dia mahu beritahu sesuatu. Hah, mari sini Sitijah," balas saya, menuju ke pintu dan diekori Sitijah.

"Oh, terima kasih, Sitijah. Awak, mari sini sekejap. Sitijah mahu tunjuk sesuatu."

"Apa?"

"Mari jengulkan kepala di pintu."

"Ada apa?"

"Tengok sahaja."

Maka, rakan saya menjenguk sebelum menjerit, "Apa tu?!"

"Hadiah dari Sitijah. Tengok, dia dah berhenti mengiau. Dia nak minta awak tengok sahaja," jawab saya, selamba.

"Habis, nak buat macam mana?"

"Minta dia alihkan."

"Oh," jawab rakan saya, masih merenung bangkai burung merpati besar, hadiah daripada Sitijah.

Time-zone

"Akak, do you know what? I really have fun at the leadership program," said Wan.

"What did you do?"

"We played games, a lot of games."

"When was the program?"

"Yesterday," Ummi, who is sitting beside Wan, replied.

"Eh, no, Ummi. It was a few days ago," said Wan.

"Wan, today is Sunday. The program was yesterday - Saturday."

I just watched Wan and Ummi 'debating' on the screen.

"Ummi, now is already Maghrib. I am using the Islamic-calendar," said Wan, making both Ummi and me laugh.

"Sorry, Wan. Ummi uses the normal calendar - Masihi. I never thought you are referring to Hijri calendar."

"Wow, we have two different time zone in a house," I said, still laughing.
